NYCU November 25, 2025 November 25, 2025 Advocacy, American Medical Association, Cancer, CMA, Infectious Disease, Prior Authorization, Public Health, Reproductive Rights, SDCMS, Trump Administration, Vaccines 0 TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2025 PHYSICIANS: In reaction to recent changes to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website regarding vaccine safety, Dr. Preeti Mehta, President of San Diego County Medical Society, has issued the following statement: “What the CDC has done is misleading, risking putting our children and community at real risk. Decades of research have shown there is no link between childhood vaccines and autism. By making this change the CDC will only cause and spread confusion among parents. San Diego physicians join the thousands of our colleagues all across the country in calling for these harmful changes to be replaced.” You can read more about the CDC changes from the American Academy of Pediatrics HERE, the American Medical Association HERE, and the California Medical Association HERE. REMINDER | FINAL WEEK FOR SAN DIEGO BLOOD BANK OFFERING A1C TESTING TO ALL DONORS FOR NATIONAL DIABETES AWARENESS MONTH Those who successfully donate blood, platelets, or plasma to the San Diego Blood Bank through November 30, 2025 can also receive A1C testing in honor of National Diabetes Awareness Month (en español). November is a time to raise awareness about the impact of diabetes and the importance of early detection and prevention. Access to preventive care remains a challenge — one in three people in the U.S. lack regular primary care, and diabetes affects 1 in 10 Americans, with nearly a quarter undiagnosed according to the CDC. By offering this simple screening, the Blood Bank hopes to empower their donors with valuable information to help them better understand and manage their health. Please share this news widely so that as many San Diegans as possible may avail themselves of this opportunity.
